Stanford Montessori

Everyone arrived refreshed today after a week off for spring break. The mood was joyous as students and teachers talked about their activities over the past week. The week before spring break was packed with activity. We did very well on our book fair. We sold over $6000 worth of books. The portion of sales that the school gets will go to our library to buy more books. We have a fabulous library, and continually adding to its collection keeps it packed with a variety of books for a variety of readers’ interests. Our student art was displayed magnificiently, and our music program was enjoyed by all who attended. Kudos to our PTO who sold refreshments both nights. To top it all off, our cookie dough arrived and had to be dispensed quickly. We were very successful in our fund raising and went over our goal by $2000.  After such a week packed with activites, we were all happy for a week of respite. Now we turn our attention to preparing for TCAP in two weeks.

We had Nature’s Drummers, an African drum and dance team, here last week. They were fantastic; even the three year olds were enthralled. We plan to have them back every year. Book Fair time is here so please come and shop Tuesday or Thursday from 5:00-6:30p.m. Students can shop during the day.

IMPORTANT- cookie dough is going to be here to be picked up this Wednesday at 3:30-5:00p.m. Since it is frozen, we can’t keep it overnight. Our Celebration fo the Arts will be Tuesday night for the kindergartners and Thursday night for the elementary school students. It begins at 6:30p.m.  With the busy week that we are having this week, we will definitely be ready for spring break next week.

This is a site that I want the Stanford parents to visit so that all will be more informed. While I will continue newsletters home monthly, I will have more information here. This is a very busy time of the year so this format will keep everyone better informed. I will try to post every Monday.

News for this week:  Friday we will be hosting Natures Drummers, an African dance team. They were here last year and mesmerized everyone.
